
LONDON, 7 June 2013 – A unique collection of poetry written inside Iran’s notorious Evin prison by one of Iran’s seven jailed Bahá’í leaders has been launched here. The book entitled Prison Poems brings together poems written by 55-year old Mahvash Sabet. She and six colleagues were the members of an informal group that looked after the spiritual and social needs of Iran’s 300,000-strong Bahá’í minority. The seven were arrested in 2008 and each sentenced to 20-year prison terms on trumped-up charges.
