Nations voice concerns about Iran's human rights record

The Baha’i World News Service reports that countries and human rights organisations from around the world have expressed their very strong concerns at the UN’s Human Rights Council about Iran’s human rights record. All 192 countries that members of the United Nations undergo a regular review of their human rights practices in a process known as the Universal Periodic Review. European Union "deeply disturbed" at arrests in Iran

The European Union says it is “deeply disturbed” by the arrests in Iran of members of the Bahá’í community, as well as converts to Christianity. In a declaration issued on 26 September 2008, made on behalf of the 27 EU member states – and also signed by 10 other European countries – the EU expressed its concern at the deterioration in the exercise of freedom of religion or belief, and especially the freedom of worship, in Iran.
